01/03-2010 | Scouts smacking flies, a village of soccer players and an almost-birthday (Hisar)

February 27th, Saturday

Today in the morning we had as usual Bible Study about Hebrews and Power time. And then we prepared for the Scout’s Club in the afternoon. After Lunch we went to Stroitel Church, the basement Church. We started the Scout’s program outside – good to get some air in our choking brains! Andrei had prepared some tons of games, for example the Muchosol game. There were two people appointed as Muchosols (spray to kill flies as I understand) and they had to kill all the flies (*smack*). Another game was the Toxic Bottle! It was in the radioactive area and we couldn’t get there – we didn’t have protective clothing, only two ropes. So the group challenge was to get the bottle out of the area in the safety area. After several Explosions we eventually managed to get it there! phew

Then we went inside and Jani told the story of the good Samaritan. Then he showed and taught some more break dance for the guys. Ann-Sofi and Vera went with the Girls and taught them how to play Ligretto and Uno, while eating a lot of candy. And then time was already over! We prayed and thanked God for the day and so did the Kids.

February 28th, Sunday

This day we started with breakfast and then right away we went to church – as every Christian is supposed to on Sundays! We split our team into two; half went to Stroitel Church and other half to New Life Church. In Stroitel, the pastor taught about the gifts of the Holy Spirit; they had been doing that topic for the last few weeks as far as I know. And after that Jani shared his Testimony and some more, and in the end there was prayer time for sick people and for those who needed encouragement or a word from God. Jani and Ann-Sofi said it was really good and many people got healed and touched by God! It’s great!

Me (Vera) and Niina were with the smaller Kids, drwing and making Origami paper things and making cards. They looked pretty happy; I think I couldn’t sit and draw for more than one hour! But that’s Kids I guess. I’m too old already!

In New Life Church, Vova and Andrei shared Testimony and Tanya was “mental support”. They said it was better atmosphere and as I heard Vova’s Testimony was really good.

In the afternoon we went to Banya to play soccer with the Kids and Youth of the village. First there were only some of the Kids, but then we went to the other side of the village and almost half of the village joined us! It was really lots of people! Vova, Jani, Andrei were playing soccer with the youth, Ann-Sofi was Paparazzi for once, and I was Playing games with Kids and holding hands.. It was pretty intense time, really lots of Kids talking and screaming, but great to be around them and see how they’re living. In the end Jani showed some breakdance moves and the youth also did some dancing or backflips. Minttu and Yan also had some fun, playing together and running around!

Then at around six we left, and said some thousand goodbyes! We would go there again on Wednesday, for the last time.

March 1st, Monday

Today was the day before Tanya’s birthday and day-off. So as usual we slept as long as possible, and then some of us did some shopping; shoes, food, souvenirs or the second hand store maybe.

In the evening we went to celebrate Tanya’s almost-birthday! We went to a pretty restaurant in the center of the city. Eirin, Nasco and Kids and Bodil, Petya also joined us. We had good food, and way enough, even Ice-cream for dessert! I guess Andrei was happy ‘bout that! It was really cozy restaurant, with wood ceiling and brick walls. For the Kid’s it was bit boring of course, only to eat, so they went outside in the rain to play. It was good evening and we plenty of time to talk and talk. Hope u liked it Tanya and Happy Birthday for tomorrow!
