Therefore the Borgen DTS is designed to encourage you to develop in personal character, to cultivate a living relationship with God, and to identify your unique individual gifts and calling in God. Engaging in both individual and global challenges facing today`s youths are special emphases throughout the DTS. We want to reach current and future generations and answer the call to "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations" Matthew 28:19

So our DTS is involved in urban youth work and leadership training, Mercy ministry, Prayer and Evangelism, and we organize several events and happenings in the arctic region reaching out to youths, couples and leaders.

We also believe it is important for all our students and staff to receive individual follow up and mentoring/coaching. Our desire is that you will learn to know yourself, know Jesus and know new cultures as a part of our YWAM Borgen family and it is our hope you will consider staying on after a DTS and join us in our call to "go to the ends of the earth and make disciples".

The DTS at Borgen lasts for 6 months, from September to March with the option of a 3 month leadership training program afterward. Lecture Phace begins Sunday 11 of September at 1600 at Borgen and ennds for Christmas break saturday 17th of december. Christmas break is until january 1st when we meet for outreach at the national YWAM base in Norway Grimerud for a few days of celebration before going out to the nations. You are welcome to celebrate christmas at the base if you want:)

Outreach is from january 1st to 30th of March. We end the outreach part with a outreach trip in north of norway, and two weeks at the base in the end.

After that we have a two weeks break before we start our leadership training program LTD. The 3 month program consists of practical training and personal development in areas like Event Management, Youth Ministry, Mission Adventures outreach training, Christlike leadership and Personal leadership skills. During lecture phase we will also be running two large youth camps for Lutheran confirmants at Borgen and be involved in RISK, a weekend where we join with other dts students in norway and go to all 49 countrys in Europe praying and evangelising from thursday to sunday.

We want to see that the outreach in addition to it´s training purpose have a strategic effect in the areas and regions God have put on our hearts. Therefore we work closely together with our friends and partners on the mission field to quality ensure the time and energy we invest in building Gods kingdom on outreach.

During outreach we will among other things focus on Mercy ministry, Evangelism, Youth work, intercession and reaching the unreached.

Previous outreach locations have included Arctic Norway,Sweden and Finland, Alaska, Northwest Canada, Northwest Russia and North Africa, Bulgaria, South east Asia and Belarus.

We will pray together and seek God for where to go on outreach during the beginning of the lecture Phase .

In addition to half a year on the DTS we want to offer you a 3 month leadership training program straight afterward where you will receive individual training and coaching in your areas of interests while working shoulder to shoulder with our workers and leaders.

In 2012 YWAM Norway aim at sending 1000 teenagers to England for three weeks of outreach during the Olympic Summer Games. The YWAM Borgen team is central in creating and coordinating this and in the leadership training cource you will be part of shaping and creating this amazing outreach, lead teams and build new relationships.

You will also be part of excellent teaching weeks both locally and internationally focusing on topics like: 

• Leadership styles
• Christlike Leadership
• Culture and communication
• How to develop personal finances 
• University of the Nations Equip training

And you will together as a team learn project management, teaching and preaching and living a disciplined lifestyle as a leader.

All this in the context of community living where three generations of leaders invest in, encourage and challenge you!

The DTS costs 19000 NOK for the Theory phase plus 19000 NOK for the Outreach phase. This includes all travel expenses during the Theory phase and Outreach phase, food and lodging and school supplies (This is less than most people in Norway pay in rent for a 6 month period and all you need in addition to this is pocket money and Christmas Break costs.)

Payment is made in three installments:
1500 NOK when you accept your place at the school
18250 NOK when you arrive at the school
18250 NOK before December for the outreach phase
