We want to train young people to live in a close and intimate relationship with God in all the areas of their lives and to know the Word of God and what Jesus have to say about the challenges we face in today´s society.

Our DTS is involved in urban youth work and leadership training, Mercy ministry in Northern Africa and Northern Russia, prayer and prophetic evangelism and several important events and happenings in the arctic.

We believe it is important for all our students and staff to receive individual follow up and mentoring/coaching. Our desire is that you will learn to know yourself, know Jesus and know new cultures as a part of our YWAM Borgen family.

After Discipleship Training School (DTS):

* You will know God, yourself and his dreams for your life and be equipped to walk the talk with God.
* You will know and understand how to read the bible and find eternal principles in scripture for almost every aspect of life and society.
* Your heart will be transformed with healing and restoration as you deal with pain from the past and revive new passion for God and his ways.
* You will be helped to develop, know and express you identity and calling trough teaching, mentoring and lots of time with God.
* Experience a new hunger and longing for more of Jesus.

The DTS at Borgen lasts for 6 months, from September to March with the option of a 3 month leadership training program afterward. The 3 month program consists of practical training and personal development in areas like Event Management, Evangelism, Children´s work in Northern Africa, Prayer network development and much more.

The DTS starts Sudnay 12th of september at 16:00.

Because YWAM is celebrating 50 years we will meet in Oslo for the first week, and then meet up with all of ywam Northern Europe for a week of celebration with Loren and Darlene Cunningham the following week in Restenes, Sweden.

After that we will go north to YWAM Borgen and continue there.

During lecture phase we will also be running two large youth camps for Lutheran confirmants at Borgen and be involved in Tromsø United, a large interdenominational youth work reaching out to confirmants in Tromsø

We want to see the outreach in addition to it´s training purpose have a strategic effect in the areas and regions God have put on our hearts. Therefore we work closely together with our friends and partners in youth works in the North and mission projects in North Africa and Russia.

During outreach in Mali we will focus on mercy ministry working with street children giving healthcare, love and playing with them. We will also be involved in opening a house of prayer for 24/7 prayer for Muslim Africa, and be part of a international conference called "feet 2011" in the desert city.

Previous outreach locations have included Arctic Norway,Sweden and Finland, Alaska, Northwest Canada, Northwest Russia and North Africa, Bulgaria and Belarus.

In addition to half a year on the DTS we want to offer you a 3 month leadership training program straight afterward where you will receive individual training and coaching in your areas of interests while working shoulder to shoulder with our workers and leaders.

We will tailor a program for each individual but some things will be common to all like several weeks of leadership training, intercultural training and personal finance planning. Some of the areas we are good at are Event Management training where you will take part in preparing and leading conferences and happenings on our centre and in our region. Also youth work in Norway, practical running and developing of a YWAM centre, prayer network building, preaching, mercy ministry among children in North Africa and Russia, university evangelism and house group planting.

We are looking for new friends and co-workers that will stand with us in seeing God´s plans and dreams become a reality here in the North.

The DTS costs 19000 NOK for the Theory phase plus 19000 NOK for the Outreach phase. This includes all travel expenses during the Theory phase and Outreach phase, food and lodging and school supplies (This is less than some people pay in rent for a 6 month period and all you need in addition to this is pocket money and some equipment for the Outreach phase.)

Payment is made in three installments:
1500 NOK when you accept your place at the school
18250 NOK when you arrive at the school
18250 NOK before the Outreach Phase
